Thought
I'd post a different type of CGM data today. Tomorrow is our Endo appt
and I like to get a feel for what I think our Endo will say, where our
A1c will fall, look at Standard Deviation, etc.
This graph is
so informative. It's looking at 90 days of data, broken down per hour.
Each column is ALL of our finger pricks and CGM data for that hour for
the past 90 days. Since we eat meals at
set times we can look at this to see if we have any "trouble hours".
(I look at this each week so I can see a smaller set of data.) We have a
few highs and lows, but they're single dots, so they happened pretty
rarely. You can't see individual dots in the 70-100 range because
they're so concentrated. The black diamonds are the average BG for that
hour over the past 90 days.
The top right shows Avg BG of 89
+- 25. That's the average BG of actual finger pricks... 89 mg/dL with a
Standard Deviation of 25... showing we keep a pretty tight range (no
sharp high/low swings). Below that shows Sensor Avg of 85 +- 23.
That's the average of all his CGM sensor readings (usually about 100+
per day) with a Standard Deviation of 23.
Based on this info,
I'm anticipating our A1c tomorrow to come in around the 4.6 range (I'm
secretly hoping for a 4.5). He's been sick the past week so his BG has
been much higher than normal. I'm hopeful this won't skew our A1c. We
shall see!
One thing that is really cool, is how close the 90
day finger prick average and the CGM sensor average is. CGM's
(especially Medtronic/Enlite) have a bad rap for being off a lot. This
is definitely not our case and proves this to be a very useful tool for
us. Not to mention it lets me sleep through the night on occassion.
Wish us luck tomorrow.
